Internet Archive: Donations in Bitcoin Cash and Zcash possible

San Francisco's Internet Archive, a digital library, has long accepted donations in the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. As a result, the non-profit organization has already received a large number of donations. Now the organization announced it would accept two more cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin Cash and Zcash.

Donate to Bitcoin Cash and Zcash

Already on November 16, the Internet Archive announced to accept Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Zcash (ZEC). Already since 2012 donations with the cryptocurrency Bitcoin are possible. The organization stated that it has always been a fan of the cryptocurrency movement, in line with its goal of archiving a free and secure Internet for the public.

"We have been accepting Bitcoin donations since 2012, and as of this week, we will also accept donations to Bitcoin Cash and Zcash," the archive wrote in a blog post.

"It started with" UKcryptocurrency "tweeting us and asking if the internet archive would accept Bitcoin Cash as well. We love a challenge and have introduced the link in just a few hours. "

The work of the Internet Archives

The organization was founded in 1996 by Brewster Kahle. The platform allows users to upload or download files. Among other things, the Internet Archive stores web pages, videos, pictures, music, software and texts.

Kahle explained that cryptocurrency donations make a big contribution to the organization's work. Employees are also passionate about technology and have been paying with Bitcoin in the past. The revolution that Bitcoin will bring to the financial world is closely linked to the evolution of the information age, and Kahle and his archive want to preserve this for future generations.

"We are a non-profit organization with a big mission: to give everyone access to knowledge - books, websites, television and software forever - for nothing," says the blog post in the archive.
